"Through my own experience of therapy, and a passion for mental wellbeing that developed duringthat time, I felt I had the skills and desire to pursue a career in mental health therapy. I love gettingto know people and hearing their stories, and that coupled with an increasing knowledge in mentalhealth issues gained in my personal time, I felt it was something I could make into my work.I have trained as a holistic mental health therapist – which means I learnt various different theoriesand approaches to counselling. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, PsychodynamicTherapy, Humanistic and Person-Centered Therapy. These essentially mean I can offer therapy thatis practical in working on thought patterns; I can help someone look at their past experiences andhow they affect them today; and I welcome the client as they are – without judgement – and workwith them in what they experience day to day in their thoughts and feelings.I am really passionate about working with 18-35 year olds – I feel that I can relate most to my agegroup and understand a lot of what people are going through because of this.My approach is to offer a warm and welcoming environment, where you feel safe and comfortableto share your thoughts and feelings. I am fully myself in my sessions and work with you on buildingtrust and respect between us and forging a good therapeutic relationship where you feel you can beyourself."
