Bio

"Before deciding to become a mental health practitioner, I followed a life-long career as a Community Pharmacist. This allowed me to come into contact with many people with, or, associated with, a diverse range of medical conditions, including those struggling with mental health. I came to understand that many people simply valued someone to listen to their needs & concerns, given the opportunity. This is what inspired & motivated me to become a Counsellor, allowing me to provide clients with a designated confidential space to discuss personal issues. On a personal level I too know what it's like to experience stress, anxiety & depression at various times in my life. Support from others helped me make changes for the better. My training equips me with 'active' listening skills allowing me to provide you, as a client, designated time & a confidential 'space' to truly 'listen' to your concerns without judgement. I offer empathy & respect for you to work through your issues at a pace that's comfortable for you, working collaboratively we will explore your Presenting issue to help develop a different perspective to your presenting issues. Once we work together to establish a Goal for therapy this will provide focus to help you to develop effective coping strategies where necessary & a create a more positive outlook for the future. Your overall wellbeing is my aim, both during & after therapy to help achieve a more contented life. "
