"Hi,After spending 30 years in HR and management, I started training as a therapist because I'd spent a long time in that dark place myself and found counselling enormously helpful in getting me out of it. I realised why I felt as bad as I did, and was able to overcome those reasons so that after years of feeling I wasn't good enough, I'm now comfortable in my own skin. I wanted to help other people make that transition, and now I'm privileged to be doing that every day.I've qualifications in CBT and Emotional Therapeutic Counselling, which means I can offer you long term solutions and day to day coping strategies. I don't apply a process to you; I work with what you present me with on the day. So if you want to talk about your mother, your cat or your car, that's fine. I don't judge you - this isn't about turning you into some pre-defined version of 'normal' but helping you become the person you want to be. I don't give you the answers because deep down, you know them; I help you find them for yourself. I can help you get out of your own head, your own way and your own negative beliefs. It will be tough. Sometimes you won't like what I say to you. Sometimes you'll feel worse than you did before we started as we look into things that are hard for you and which you might have been avoiding for years. But like surgery, although it's scary and painful at the time, in the long term it makes you better.Because I don't judge, you can tell me anything in complete confidence. There's nothing you can say that will make me hate or despise you. No matter how bad you think you've been, you can talk openly to me about it and know I'll believe in you. I genuinely believe everyone has good in them and it's my job to make you believe that too.I work with anyone other than those who are actively using substances as a coping mechanism."
