"Hello! I've always worked in helping professions so it make sense for me to train as a counsellor in my forties. It was challenging to study whilst working at the same time but I'm so pleased I did. I'm warm, friendly, positive and have a genuine interest in people, their thoughts and behaviours. I studied psychology with the Open University and have also completed Level 3-5 in Therapeutic counselling as well as Level 1 & 2 in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and also Level 1 & 2 in Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). I use person centred therapy alongside with CBT and SFT. I ensure I attend regular courses and workshops to update my skills and knowledge and I'm registered with the BACP and NCS and adhere to their ethical frameworks. I'm passionate about good mental health and have an interest in how the physical affects the emotional and cognitive parts of the brain and vice versa. I have experience in dealing with chronic pain and how to mentally manage it so there is less suffering. I am a firm believer that we can all improve our mental health which allows us to the best person we can be. I work with adults and also adolescents, face to face, via an online platform and offer telephone counselling too - whichever is the most convenient for you. I am a great listener, non-judgemental and enjoy witnessing the positive changes and journey that a client takes to help themselves. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you soon."
