For End Users

Here's the language we use in our own messaging

"PERSONALISED MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT"

The vast majority of alternatives provide no choice. Users are assigned a counsellor and have telephone sessions. Your platform provides personalised support by letting clients choose who they'd like to speak to.

Use the phrase “Personalised mental health therapy”to demonstrate the therapeutic support beingdelivered by counsellors is tailored, or “personal” toeach individual.

When talking about the platform, a good phrase is: “Our platform matches people tothe right counsellor so they can feel better faster”. The wording “matching” and “feel better faster” is frequently used in copywriting.

A lot of people are suffering with mental health issues at any one time but they aren’t waiting for a counselling service to appear. We recommend touching base with people with useful mental health content every month.

A few other phrasing examples

"Seeking counselling is a proactive step towards maintaining good mental health; we're here to provide these services."
"If you're experiencing any challenges, remember that counselling services are available to you."
"We encourage you to take advantage of the confidential counselling services we offer."
"You are not alone in this. We provides access to professional counselling for all employees."
"Don't hesitate to reach out for support. Our counselling services are here to help you navigate any difficulties you may be facing."
"Your well-being matters to us, and we are here tosupport you."
"Confidentiality is of utmost importance. Your privacy will berespected when you access counselling services."
"If you need someone to talk to, our counselling resourcesare just a phone call away. Don't hesitate to reach out."
"Taking care of your mental well-being is essential. Ourorganization provides counselling support to ensure you havethe help you need."
"We believe in fostering a supportive work environment, andour counselling services are an integral part of that supportsystem."

For businesses

Language to use in messaging to business customers

Financial Justification

The ROI of mental health support

We found that the financial argument is the one that works with most people. Providing support is more like insurance against the expensive effect or low productivity and recruitment.

False Economy

There is some cross over between language for users and businesses. Other systems just assign people counsellors which rarely works but they still need to paid. It’s a false economy to pay less for something that doesn’t work.

Fairer Prices

For most organisations pay as you go is cheaper than the typical EAP solution. The key thing to ask them if they are making a choice between the two is what the EAP usage rate is. It’s usually 1% or 2%of staff each month and yet they are charged as if 5-8% are using.

Financial reality

We created this online calculator that shows the cost of mental health issues, highlighting the cumulative cost.

Benefits of Matching

How it works

Our matching algorithm matches people seeking therapy with a qualified counsellor, based on relevance (life/health/work),personality fit (through video profiles) and availability.

Put to the test

During COVID we conducted a  pilot study working vulnerable people, funded by Innovate UK, to determine the success of our matching to counsellors on the platform.

Results

93.3% of users found the right therapist
Average reduction of:
58% anxiety
51% irritability
40% depression
30% reduction in sleep disturbance

Employee Assistance Programs:
3 reasons why they're not fit for mental health support

1) There's no matching!

Just generic support delivered through a phone call. With mental health so personal, the support should be too.

This is usually delivered in 30 minutes session over the telephone

Complicated and frustrating

Before someone gets support, they have to go through a triage process to “justify” they need help. Often by a non mental health trained staff member, only to be told when to have counselling and with who.

EAPs incentivised to reduce usage

EAP’s price based on a assumed usage - estimating 30% of staff will use 6 counselling sessions. In reality, only ~5% of employees typically interact with an EAP at all. Most dont even use counselling.
